Navarre Language Acquisition and Teaching

NAVLAT is a research group from the Public University of Navarre focused on research on language acquisition and teaching

A passion for languages

Our goal is to better understand the processes of language acquisition and design the most effective didactic approaches for each context. We are also deeply engaged with the context of our region, Navarre, a community with two official languages (Spanish/Basque) and widespread bilingual programs in English within the education system.

A linguistically diverse community

Our community presents a very rich linguistic landscape with two official languages (Spanish and Basque) along with widespread instruction of English as a foreign language within the education system.

International interest

Research on Second Language Acquisition (SLA) garners international interest, and we publish and attend conferences worldwide.

“He who knows no foreign languages knows nothing of his own”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
